Train Dispatcher Game

I realize there are some on this board who 'play' train dispatcher in real life. Yeah, well, you get it.

  • Railway Station Master is a brand new railway dispatching game for train dispatchers. It is not the copy or clone of the previous game: train dispatcher. It simulates world-famous railway station layouts and station timetables.
  • (November 2017) Train Dispatcher is a train simulator of centralized traffic control (CTC) systems. It was originally developed in the 1980s as a training tool for a commercial railroad and was then made available to the public. The software is currently produced by SoftRail (formerly Signal Computer Consultants) for Windows -based computers.

WebRailRoader’s CTC is a computer simulation game that shows the diagram of railroad tracks of a particular territory, and your job is to route the trains to their proper destination as set per schedule. CTC was inspired by Softrail’s Train Dispatcher (TDP, first published in 1997), but it is more than just a clone. Your statistics as a dispatcher are shown by clicking the Stats button in the in-game menu. The more trains you route through your corridor on time, the higher your rating. Late trains, misroutes and collisions all hurt your rating.

Train Dispatcher Games

I know me and one other person on this board who still play this game regularly and continue to build territories as well. I'm just wondering now that Softrail no longer supports the game (i.e. you can't buy a new copy or download territories anymore) if there's anyone on this board who actually still plays it?
The Dispatch_Central Yahoo group is still quite active but most of the discussion topics center around actually getting the game and territories and not so much questions on building territories and whatnot (because Track Builder has alot of, let's say, personality). I myself have only uploaded one territory to the group (CSX SC dispatcher circa early 2000s).

Dispatcher Simulator Game

Train dispatcher game for windows 10I'm assuming the game has nowhere near the popularity it did 10-15 years ago but again this is a survey of who on this board plays it, what is/are your favorite territories, and have you created any yourself.Games

Think you have what it takes to control complex train routes? The train dispatcher simulator Rail Route looks thoroughly interesting, and you can even try an early demo.

In the game you will be tasked with negotiating contracts, building railroads, setting up routes for trains and controlling the traffic. As you go you will unlock more features of the dispatcher interface, upgrade the railway network itself and add in a little automation.

When you start off you will be in charge of manual routing, clicking around signals and ensuring trains actually get to where they're supposed to be. From there, you will be able to unlock automated routing to help with busy train traffic and when the lines start getting complex. You need money though to do anything, which comes in the form of contracts to fill up your schedule and run trains across your lines.

It has a level editor too, so you can create whatever you want and perhaps replicate a local line you love.

The team at Bitrich have been updating the demo recently too, which you can try free on itch.io. You can also wishlist it on Steam. One big focus of their current effort is on an overhaul of the user interface, which they blogged about on their official site and it's looking pretty slick and much nicer than the current demo UI:
